No issue for me since I don’t intend to leave.Īs for 1Password I have v8 beta. ![]() ![]() Only negative might bevthatvit is difficult to export into other apps. Tags will be in Monterey and iOS15 in a few days. When I dropped Evernote I went all in on Apple Notes. Bitwarden and Enpass at least still support swedish. And they will probably-according to themselves drop swedish localisation. On the other hand the beta of mSecure 6 is not worth buying. After all 1Password is rather expensive compared with mSecure, Secrets and other apps that still are Mac native. So I know in a month if I shall subscribe for another year or not. My subscription ends in October, that is why I look for alternatives now. And also: as a mac-user I rather pay a developer that develops mac-apps and not just push a linux (?) app into a mac wrapper. Since there will probably not be monthly improvements of the app. I don’t mind subscriptions, but for a password manager I can’t really see why it is better for me as a customer than a one time purchase. These two combined makes me feel locked in to 1Password and difficult to choose something else in the future. Also, the new export solution that is not even. I have an issue with the fact that they drop possibilities to use anything else than their own cloud. As for other apps on Electron: there are as I understand at least two that are mac native. But as I understand it is a web wrapper for a web based app, not standalone. Maybe 1Password will work better, maybe not. It got slower, buggier, lost a lot of functions and used a lot more memory. It is not only electron that is the reason why I might swap. Why I ask this is because I really like 1Password 7, but am to renew in October and don't want to be stuck with a new version that isn't targeted at my consumer segment. Sorry that this became so long and probably the questions are posted here and there but hopefully not on one place, so I don't take up time for you. Since I don't use it for a company, but only to me and my wife and kids (all have their own vaults) will v8 work for me or will the vault-solutions disappear and be as in other apps with own logins? 1pif, or only the new type? If I decide later that I want to move from v8, will that be more difficult than now? What except for the move to electron are the main issues users have with 1Password? Strongbox has problems importing from 1Password. However since we share many, like "family" it seems to be a problem.Īlso I have looked at Dashlane, which is expensive if I want more than my desktop and iPhone. in mSecure the vaults are as I understand only accessible by the "owner"-so I need one for me and one for my wife. I also want the different vaults in 1Password. As I understand if I use any of the iCloud based solutions I need to "share" the passwords, she can't access them herself if we have different iCloud accounts. I like top have it on a server like 1Password Cloud or mSEcure Cloud, since my wife also uses the same login account to the passwords. Some of them only can sync with iCloud, others with iCloud and Dropbox. Now to what I have problems with in other apps: I mostly use it on my iPhone, and use the desktop app when I add new passwords or new vaults. I have been checking the activity monitor, and can't really see anything in 1PW v 8 beta that steals a lot of memory. ![]() Mainly because the things I have been used to in 1Password isn't available or difficult to find in the ones I have been trying. However, I tend to go back to my old 1Password 7, and not try v8 beta again. As I understand in 1PW v8 desktop app will not actually be a standalone app but more a "link" to the web app? With the n technical changed in v 8 (Electron mostly and some features missing) I have been looking for a replacement. I have been using 1Password for some years, since I left Keeper. This should import all of your 1Password information to a mSecure formatted records.Maybe the title is hard to understand, but I don't need any tips on alternatives to 1Password. 1pic backup file and click "Open" in the Finder window
